Stamford Tree Planting

We understand that tree services aren’t all about killing trees. Sometimes we enjoy planting them as well! Planting healthy trees provide fresh oxygen, wildlife habitat, reduces soil erosion, and of course is a source of natural beauty. Healthy, well-maintained trees are spots for little ones to play and explore. Healthy trees provide shade for family BBQs in the summer, and in who doesn’t love the changing leaves of a healthy maple tree in the fall?
Planting trees can be a difficult task - much more difficult than some might believe. Saplings require the correct planting depth, the right type of soil, a well-fertilized area or added fertilizer, correct water drainage, and plenty of room to grow. All of these aspects vary greatly depending on the species of tree you’re looking to plant. Additionally, when you receive a tree from a nursery, the way the tree is “packaged” depends on how you will plant the tree: is the tree in a container? Are the roots bare? Is the tree bulbed in a  sack? These are important distinctions to consider when tree planting, as they determine where you plant the tree and how.

None of these things are impossible for the do-it-yourselfer to figure out on their own. With enough research and careful planning, you can certainly plant your own trees and ensure they are healthy for many years to come.

However, all of our expert arborists have degrees in their field. This means we don’t have to spend days doing research on how tall an oak tree gets, or how much water a lilac bush needs, because we already put in years of work on these very subjects.

When we transplant a tree for you, we take the utmost care to ensure that it survives into adulthood. We provide fertilization for your newly planted trees, but only if necessary - we never over-fertilize, as this leads to undesirable environmental impacts. If your tree is planted correctly and is well-suited for its environment, it will live a long full life and will need little (if any) outside fertilization.
